#NAILLinkup – Diamonds – China Glaze Fade into Hue and Shimmer Polish Jennifer

Hi honies!

It’s the weekend, yay! Never comes too soon, huh?

This weekend, I have a big exciting project for the blog. I’ve been mulling it over for months, and have decided to take the plunge. Basically, I’m going to transfer over to WordPress.org. That means I’ll keep the same domain name and everything, but the blog will become self-hosted, so I can mess about with themes and stuff more 😉

Either it will go very smoothly, with a bit of luck and help from my bloke, who is a computer programmer. But if it doesn’t, and things go a bit squiffy over the next few days, don’t panic! You can always check out my Twitter feed or Instagram to check where I’m at…

Today’s nail art is an upgrade on the mani I’ve been wearing for the past few days. I love China Glaze Fade into Hue! It’s pastelly enough for spring, yet super saturated, and very shiny! So I did a quick touch up, and added the nail art over the top. While I decided what to do to get the diamonds into the theme, I did a quick glitter gradient with Shimmer Polish Jennifer on my little (pinky) finger.

I hope everyone had a nice weekend! I have a huge case of the Sunday Night Blues, personally. It’s hard when you work long hours during the week. I have been so tired this weekend, that I don’t feel like I really made the most of it… And it’s already over 😦 

Anyway, we’re now only a week away from Easter! Which was very fun when I was living back home in a big family, I remember carting home dozens of chocolate eggs for the kids! But now I’m older and living far away from home, it’s not so much fun. Until nail art gets involved! So, this mani was inspired by the Illamasqua Speckled Egg polishes, which I bought last year and wrote about here. They’re still my only Illamasqua polishes, since they are very hard to get hold of here in France.

 

I wanted to do an Easter bunny, but without being too ‘cute’, so a black silhouette seemed perfect! I did it over two Ciaté polishes – Candy Floss and Ferris Wheel – with a Barry M Nail Art Pen.

And, although I loved wearing this mani glossy, it was even better once mattified… Well, I think so, anyway!

#Naillinkup – Bird Nail Art (MoYou-London Mother Nature 02)

Gah, this week has been a busy one! Sorry for the lack of posts! I usually love to unwind by blogging, but this week has been so frustrating, that I haven’t been able to get into the groove. Anyhow, now it’s the weekend, so I’m a lot happier, of course 🙂

Today’s nails are for the ‘Bird’ prompt in the Nail Art Ideas Linkup. Which seemed like a good time to pair Zoya Dove with MoYou-London Mother Nature 02….

#Naillinkup – Rain (April Showers) Nail Art (Dance Legend Teleportation)

I’m so glad it’s the weekend! I work in tourism, so it’s super busy at the moment, and will be for the next 3-4 weeks 😦 which doesn’t leave much time to come up with nail art. But, that’s the beauty of the Nail Art Ideas Linkup, the ideas are pretty simple and you can just do whatever fits with them. And it’s only one theme per week, which makes it easy to keep up!

For the rain theme, I just had to use my favourite holo! I mean, what’s the best thing about rain? Rainbows, of course! and the strongest holo that I have is, without a doubt, Teleportation by Dance Legend. So far, it’s the only one I have from the collection, but I would love the others too, the holo is super strong ❤

I used a dark grey polish to stamp rain clousd from the Vivid Lacquer VL 006 stamping plate. This isn’t one of the ones that was sent to me to review, I bought it with my very own money 🙂 it’s currently out of stock, but has been several times before and seems to be restocked regularly

Nail Art Ideas Linkup – Themes for April

It is with heavy hearts that we announce this. We are discontinuing the Nail Art Ideas Linkup challenge that we’ve been running since there hasn’t been enough interest.

Hold up, we are totally kidding! April Fools!!!

Did we fool you, or are you too clever for our tactics?? Not a chance that we would discontinue the #NAILLINKUP! The only month we are skipping is July. Because that’s when we host our huge 2nd annual 31 day OMD nail challenge! More info on our prompts and prizes in the coming months.
Let’s get back to April! It’s one of the rare months where we can squeeze 5 prompts in instead of 4. For your nail art pleasure, here are our ideas-

RAIN (week 1) There’s an old adage that says April showers bring May flowers. Well, maybe not in all parts of the world. But still, we all know about rain! Let’s see your nails painted with rain, droplets, umbrellas, or however you want to interpret this theme!

BIRDS (week 2) Did you know that April 8th is officially Draw a Picture of a Bird Day? Let’s ‘draw’ birds on our nails to celebrate this weird holiday! Of course, you can use a stamping kit or some decals if you’d like.

EASTER (week 3) Bunnies, colored eggs, candies and green grass! We expect to see lots of cute nails for this prompt.

DIAMONDS (week 4) What is the birthstone for April? Diamonds. And we can’t think of a prettier way to decorate your nails. After all, diamonds are a girl’s best friend!

DOTTICURE (week 5) We like to throw a nail art ‘technique’ in the mix every month and polka dots are a classic!

#NAILLINKUP – Spring Flowers (I Love Nail Polish Chloé)

I Love Nail Polish is definitely my favourite brand right now. I hope you aren’t getting bored of reading about it! The new collection is stunning, but I still adore the shades that I got last year 🙂 so, I pulled out Chloé for this Spring Flowers-inspired nail art. This medium lavendar with a delicate holo is a great spring colour !
