Butter London – Bramble x Blowing Raspberries

Hey darlings!

I hope everyone had (or is still having!) a nice long weekend! Are there any readers in places that don’t have bank holidays for Easter?

I decided to take an unplanned break from blogging over the weekend. It did me a lot of good! I decided that it would be better to blog less, but better, rather than to push myself to post 5 times a week. My schedule will be slowing down a bit in a few weeks, so I’ll pick things up again then. For the next couple of weeks, you’ll still hear from me 4 times a week, I think 😉

I didn’t even go to the gym until this morning! I’ve been really committed to going 3 times a week since the end of December, but I took 6 days off, and this morning’s workout was much more satisfying – and sweatier! So overall I think the break was worth it 🙂

#Naillinkup – Rain (April Showers) Nail Art (Dance Legend Teleportation)

I’m so glad it’s the weekend! I work in tourism, so it’s super busy at the moment, and will be for the next 3-4 weeks 😦 which doesn’t leave much time to come up with nail art. But, that’s the beauty of the Nail Art Ideas Linkup, the ideas are pretty simple and you can just do whatever fits with them. And it’s only one theme per week, which makes it easy to keep up!

For the rain theme, I just had to use my favourite holo! I mean, what’s the best thing about rain? Rainbows, of course! and the strongest holo that I have is, without a doubt, Teleportation by Dance Legend. So far, it’s the only one I have from the collection, but I would love the others too, the holo is super strong ❤

#Naillinkup - Rain Nail Art Dance Legend Teleportation -003I used a dark grey polish to stamp rain clousd from the Vivid Lacquer VL 006 stamping plate. This isn’t one of the ones that was sent to me to review, I bought it with my very own money 🙂 it’s currently out of stock, but has been several times before and seems to be restocked regularly Continue reading

Butter London Bramble with A England Excalibur stamping (Vivid Lacquer 006)

Butter London Bramble-002

I’m going to try to use some untried polish before I start buying more again! I know, it’s not the first time I’ve said that, and it’s not easy to do. But there aren’t many polishes that have come out recently that especially tempt me. Plus, I’ve started working out a few times a week, which is leaving me with less time for shopping. So I guess that now is as good a time as any!

The base colour for this mani is Bramble by Butter London. This is a gorgeous royal purple creme one-coater! It’s both dark and vivid and super smooth to apply ❤ Continue reading

Nail Art Ideas Linkup – Breast Cancer Awareness

Good evening! This week sure is going by fast, isn’t it! I hope everyone else is having a good one 🙂

Today’s mani is for our first October theme for the Nail Art Ideas Linkup.

I bet you’re all hearing a lot about Breast Cancer Awareness at the moment, October is the Internationally recognised month for talking about it. Well, let’s not be prudish!

I also bet that a lot of women reading this already check themselves. That’s wicked. But if you don’t, please consider starting! I totally get that some women aren’t comfortable with their bodies and some women may just not know how to do it. Yet, it isn’t difficult and doesn’t take much time. Check this link to learn how.

Any kind of cancer is awful and traumatic, but the earlier you notice it, the more chances you have of surviving. And no, it isn’t common for young women to suffer from breast cancer. But it can happen. So check your breasts anyway. The more you are familiar with them, the more easily you will spot any lumps.

Don’t just give them a squeeze though, ladies! You need to massage deep into the tissues to feel their texture, and the best way of knowing if something is wrong is by doing this regularly, so don’t be shy! Advice varies from once a week to once a month, but just go for however often you remember to. If you do this often, you are more likely to notice if something is wrong. And if you find a lump, don’t panic. But do take it seriously. Go check with a doctor. I know it’s a hassle, but it’s worth it!

I don’t think that this is the case in all countries, but out here in France your regular family doctor will check your breasts – only every 18 months or so. You don’t have to let him/her. And I get that it’s embarrassing. But you know, doctors don’t study for nothing! They might notice something that you have missed. And it’s not painful, and is very quick.

If you are a blogger and have done a BCA post, do feel free to leave a link to it in the comments 🙂 oh, and check here for advice, support and information Continue reading
