Hi ladies !
Today I have a guest post for you from Nidia, who blogs at www.beautylitfromwithin.blogspot.com – she’s really great at scrolling nail art freehand, so that’ll be a nice change for you, since it’s not my forté at all ! 😉
Hi, I’m Nidia, and I run a little blog called Lit From Within. My blog is my journey of appreciating inner beauty while having fun with nail polish and cosmetics. I love nail polish and nail art, and I’m grateful to Brijit for giving me the opportunity to share my passion with her readers.
Today, I have a nail art look inspired by Robin Moses’ party girl nails. I think my version looks more like pottery than party, though.
I started off with 2 coats of Cult Nails You’re My Dandy Lion. Bright, sunny, yellow crème, pretty easy going for a yellow.
When it was dry, I freehanded a diagonal tip with Cult Nails Ay Poppy!, a traffic-cone orange crème that is sure to get your attention!
I tried to pick a glitter that would bring out copper/gold tones. I applied it thicker at the tips, and lighter up the nail, and only in the orange. Unfortunately, the label fell off this polish, so I can’t say for sure, but I think it’s Julep Jane.
This is why I didn’t bother with tape or making sure my diagonal was perfect. I used Cult Nails Nevermore and a nail art brush to create a scroll pattern along the diagonal, and then I highlighted the black with Cult Nails Tempest. Hide (your kids, hide your wife) your mistakes with a little more polish.
See? Pottery. Guess I’m too old to be a party girl!
Bottle shot, L to R: Cult Nails Ay, Poppy!, You’re My Dandy Lion, Tempest, and Nevermore. Julep glitter (maybe Jane) in the front.
Thanks again, Brijit!
