Butter London Queen Vic & Barry M Nail Art Pen

Hey honey bunnies!

Just a quickie today! I wore the gorgeous Queen Vic to work yesterday, because it’s juuuust a little bit different, but still very highly pigmented! It’s the only Butter London that I’ve ever had bubbling problems with, but I love my berry shades so much that I can cope with that 😉Butter London Queen Vic - Copy Continue reading

Ciaté Hoopla + Nails Inc Stratford + Mash Nail Art Pen

P1000595

Hey lovely ladies, it’s the week-end!

I prepared a few photos last weekend, but didn’t get to post anything sooner, as I’ve been working my backside off! I was at work until 9.30pm on Wednesday and 11.30pm on Thursday 😦 bad times. Don’t feel too sorry for me, though, because I got today off! We went to the Salon d’Agriculture in Paris, which is a big, crazy, busy agriculture show.

Even though we went in the middle of the afternoon, it’s the school holidays, so it was very busy. Still, after we managed to find a parking spot, usable toilets and a sandwich, we felt a bit more zen about it, and really enjoyed it.

It would be impossible to see everything (especially when it’s so busy, you can’t get anywhere fast), but we saw some beautiful cows (some of them are so big!), ate some delicious specialties from France and abroad (duck sandwiches, Caribbean coconut sorbet, …) and I tried some nice wines and beers (and liqueurs too!). Of course, we also made the most of the opportunity to bring lots of lovely stuff back – macaronscharcuteriechouchen, fruits confits, honey, … Continue reading

Nail Art Ideas Linkup – Breast Cancer Awareness

Good evening! This week sure is going by fast, isn’t it! I hope everyone else is having a good one 🙂

Today’s mani is for our first October theme for the Nail Art Ideas Linkup.

I bet you’re all hearing a lot about Breast Cancer Awareness at the moment, October is the Internationally recognised month for talking about it. Well, let’s not be prudish!

I also bet that a lot of women reading this already check themselves. That’s wicked. But if you don’t, please consider starting! I totally get that some women aren’t comfortable with their bodies and some women may just not know how to do it. Yet, it isn’t difficult and doesn’t take much time. Check this link to learn how.

Any kind of cancer is awful and traumatic, but the earlier you notice it, the more chances you have of surviving. And no, it isn’t common for young women to suffer from breast cancer. But it can happen. So check your breasts anyway. The more you are familiar with them, the more easily you will spot any lumps.

Don’t just give them a squeeze though, ladies! You need to massage deep into the tissues to feel their texture, and the best way of knowing if something is wrong is by doing this regularly, so don’t be shy! Advice varies from once a week to once a month, but just go for however often you remember to. If you do this often, you are more likely to notice if something is wrong. And if you find a lump, don’t panic. But do take it seriously. Go check with a doctor. I know it’s a hassle, but it’s worth it!

I don’t think that this is the case in all countries, but out here in France your regular family doctor will check your breasts – only every 18 months or so. You don’t have to let him/her. And I get that it’s embarrassing. But you know, doctors don’t study for nothing! They might notice something that you have missed. And it’s not painful, and is very quick.

If you are a blogger and have done a BCA post, do feel free to leave a link to it in the comments 🙂 oh, and check here for advice, support and information Continue reading

OMD Rather Awesome Challenge – 1. Pink

Hey hey hey, it’s day one of the challenge !

As we said, you don’t have to take part every day or do the nail art in the right order, but I’m going to try to anyway 🙂 set a good example and all that…

So here’s my day 1 mani !

DSCF4746

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from challenges, it’s that an original mani doesn’t have to be horribly complicated. And for this one, I just doodled on the half-flowers with my models own Artistix nail art pen. I wasn’t very impressed to see that it had seperated a bit, though. I shook it, but since it’s pretty much full and there’s no mixing bead, no joy….

Still, this is a simple mani that I’ve tried once before and totally fudged up, so I was super glad to see it work this time 🙂

I can’t wait to see yours !

Here’s the Inlinkz for today, do click on it to see everyone’s entry 🙂
