I realise I have been doing way too much swatching and not enough nail art recently !
For the new Essie collection, though some of the colours are amazing, a lot are pretty similar to the China Glaze Avant Garden (though that was always going to happen, the CG collection is 12-strong !). But I did splash out on all of Avant Garden, and my card still hasn’t recovered, so I couldn’t justify getting all of the Essie Spring 2013 collection !
But, well, a girl can never have too many bright pinks or cool greys, right?!
So I went for Madison Ave-Hue – a process magenta* (get me, getting into colour theory), with some silver sparkles. The silvery-ness is distributed similarly to O.P.I.’s I Don’t Give a Rotterdam, although, obviously, the shades are pretty different ! It came out a little blue in my photo below
I also grabbed (and paid for) Maximillian Strasse Her, an icy cold grey cream. I was pretty impressed to find that this is about the only grey in eternity to actually dry the same colour as in the bottle !
That was a nice surprise, as, although i expect greys to dry a shade or two darker, I’m regularly a bit disappointed when it happens !
