Happy Hump Day! We’re half way through the week and nearly at the weekend 🙂
I have a quick swatch for you today, I Love Nail Polish – Cutie Pop.
I love January Sales!
So I’m very excited to announce that the Brijits Digits January Sale is live! All discounted stock is right here 🙂
I’m not doing progressive mark-downs – everything that is to be cleared is all listed, ready to go, and as low as it will go.
This means that some beautiful new stock will be coming in on the 1st February. If you would like a sneak preview, please sign up to the newsletter!
There will be one in French for my beautiful françaises, too 🙂
By far the best thing about blogging is the amazing friends you can make. One of those beautiful ladies is Sabrina of Polish Alcoholic. I just love our email chats about nail polish! And recently, she decided to surprise me with some awesome nail mail! If you follow my Instagram, you may have already seen. Basically, it was an Anny polish, FOUR Herômes (both brands aren’t available in France) and two incredible multichromes from her very own collection!
So today I want to show you Bradypodion. This is available for 8.50€ right here in Sabrina’s Etsy shop.
I feel like it’s a long time since I did a Ruffian mani! But today I wanted something simple yet a little different 🙂
The base colour (picked out by my other half) is Butter London Queen Vic. It’s the first time I’d used this polish, glad to see it’s GREAT quality!
The Ruffian top is in Pixie Polish Memory Splice. That’s an awesome holographic duochrome, which shifts a pinkish copper to green in the bottle. In this mani, it has become very red-purple-blue. Just so mesmerising! Unfortunately Pixie isn’t selling polish any more, if I hear she starts again, I will let you all know, don’t worry.
Happy Friday! I bet a lot of those of you in the US (and maybe Canada) are starting your Christmas shopping today! If so, don’t forget I have a coupon code running 🙂
Another lazy weekend for me 🙂 I think that at this time of year, when it’s starting to get a bit cold, lazy weekends are my favourite type!
You’ve probably noticed that I’m a bit duochrome-obsessed at the moment. And, well, I decided it’s time to treat myself to a new Indie. I’ve seen some great reviews of Sinister Benediction, and they held an awesome Birthday reduction last month, so I ordered a couple from Etsy. They came all the way from the US, but arrived in 5 days (from date of purchase) – incredibly fast!
I love the bottle! It’s the usual 15ml (0.5oz); but is rounder than the usual polishes, and the logo is insanely cool! The name of each polish is on the bottom, so you won’t forget 🙂
When it comes to the polish, I swatched it over black. As you can see in the bottle, the ‘natural’ shade is very pale, and isn’t very covering (in 5 coats, I still felt it was too transparent), but over another colour, it totally pops!
The brush looked a little skinny at first, but actually did a good job. It’s not as skinny as China Glaze, for example, and it’s nice and smooth. The formula has a lot of pigment, so I only used one coat. There were a couple of brush strokes visible, but they weren’t too obvious(I haven’t edited them out) – that happens a lot with pigmented colours like this, so it’s not a big deal. And the colour really does change very easily! Aside from Ozotics, these are the easiest-to-photo duochromes I have ever used.
At the moment, there are only 9 shades on offer (here), so I’m stalking the shop to see if the range gets extended. Very impressed with the quality of these beauties!
It’s Armistice Day/Remembrance Day/Veterans Day (depending on which part of the world you are in) tomorrow, which means a public holiday in France. So, another lazy weekend for me 🙂 of course, Armistice Day is about much more than a day off work – it’s important to remember WWI and WWII and to take the time to thank all those who did their part to preserve our freedom. My Grandma lost her older brother in the War, but I think every family in this part of Europe has been touched by what happened. Of course, there were many brave soldiers from all over the world, including Poland, the Commonwealth, US and Canada. So please remember to take a 2 minute silence – it’s the least we can do, huh!
Happy Monday! I hope everyone’s week starts off well 🙂
I decided to get my macro skills back in shape. I’ve been playing with a lot of duochrome pigments to make some fun polish for the boutique, so that was a challenge to photo! Here’s my pick of a couple of hundred photos 😉
First up, I think I’ll call this polish Valkyrie, it’s very deep and dark. Although it’s hard to tell with the duochrome micro flakies shining like this, the base is a very dark, bloody red.
Secondly Armoury. This polish kind of happened by mistake when I mixed up a couple of pigments randomly. I’ve already started testing it for wear, and you’ll be surprised to hear that it’s opaque in 2 coats! (okay, well I was surprised…)
And lastly, Faerie Fire. This polish is definitely inspired by Fantasy Fire, but is a red alternative, with a two-level duochrome – the blue shimmer goes more or less purple, and the base changes from cherry red to brick red. Another happy accident 🙂
Anyway, I love using Macro Mondays to hear what you think of my experiments! So tell me, which do you like best and why?
