Butter London Jaded Jack & tribal nail art stamping from MoYou-London

Happy Monday!

Who am I kidding? No-one likes Mondays unless they don’t work 🙂 Still, here in France, Monday is nearly over, and I must say, I’m pretty glad about that 😉 so here’s a totally non-work-appropriate nail polish for you (yeah, I’m such a rebel!)

Butter London Jaded Jack

I’m not sure that I could really explain why, but I do love lime green nail polish! Whether I’m pale or tanned, I just love how it looks on my skin tone. So I couldn’t resist Jaded Jack by Butter London! Colour-wise, it packs an amazing punch, but without quite being neon. Continue reading

Butter London – Trustafarian *picture heavy*

Here’s a great spring/summer polish for you – Butter London – Trustifarian. It’s holographic. Or duo-chrome or something. To put it simply, it has magic in it!

The polish is a bit sheer – I used 3 coats – it doesn’t seem to be altered by top coat, and is very hardwearing (3 days no tip wear with just one coat of top coat – this is unheard of for me!). Also, because the glitter particles are so fine, it’s not too tricky to remove !

Ready for some photo spam?

I know that some of these photos are under neon, some are natural/incandescent lighting and some are LED, but don’t ask me which is which…

Basically, all you need to know is that it’s stunning under any lighting !

Zoya – Bevin

So I’m fairly sure I have a relative called Bevin. Probably. You see, my family is totally spread out all over the place. And I think my great aunt who lives in Australia married a handsome Aussie called Bevin. So this polish makes me think of him. Though I’ve never actually met him, so that was an interesting anecdote, huh?!

Well, I really do love Zoya polish, and it’s so expensive out here, I try to go for shades that I know I will wear! Bevin is a grey-green creme. It is opaque in 3 (thin) coats and has a lovely finish :

Fanchromatic Nails – Faithful Gardener

I know, I know, I promise to stop spamming you with swatches soon… like, maybe at the end of the month, if you’re lucky !

This is another polish I have been wanting to show you for a long time. I’ll say it right now, I love it. Like, lots!

Faithful Gardener by Fanchromatic Nails is a medium-brown gelly full of gorgeous green matte glitter. Check out the shop on Etsy – you won’t regret it – but your wallet might…

Application is a dream, and two generous coats gave me an opaque, slightly matte finish

Fanchromatic Nails - Faithful Gardener no topcoat

The bottle brush is nothing special, but not bad either, smooth enough, and distributes the glitter nice and evenly. Plus, I just love the uniqueness of this polish ! I’m wearing a lot of green-toned make up recently, and this just looks perfect with it. I’m not sure if I prefer it, but it is very nice with a top coat too 🙂

And lookie ! The Boyfriend was kind enough to take a beautiful macro shot of the bottle for us ! You can see that green isn’t the only glitter colour in there, it’s deliciously complex with browns, shimmery bits (that’s a technical term, don’t laugh!) and even a hint of purple… What a stunner !

April Challenge – Day 4 – Green

As much as I adore green, I wasn’t feeling especially inspired. But, I decided to copy Craftynails’ Copycat of Theodora Nails from Oz. This came with 2 added bonuses – 1 – green is a great witchy colour – 2 – I finally got to open My Pointe Exactly, that I bought in a fit of madness 15 months (!) ago only to realise it wasn’t a creme and relegate it to a dark corner.

Day 4 - Green

I used Thames (Butter LONDON) and My Pointe Exactly (O.P.I.).

Illamasqua I’mPerfection – Mottle, Fragile and Scarce

Hi guys, I’ve got some quick swatches for you today, from the Illamasqua I’mperfection collection. These are designed to imitate wild birds’ eggs, and I couldn’t resist getting some for Easter !

The polishes are pretty pricey (about £15 / 20€ / $16) but I splashed out on 3 – Mottle (the greeney one), Fragile (the bluey one) and Scarce (the pinkey one). I’m mostly happy with these, but will I wear them outside the Easter period?

The first thing that underwhelmed me is the bottle. The brush is pretty average, but I hate the fact that, when firmly closed, it doesn’t line up. I can live with that in a cheap polish, but at this price, it’s a bit irritating…
