#31DC2013 – Half Moons

Please note that I no longer recommend Bondi New York as a company. For a full explanation, please see this post.

Good evening!

So I guess it’s only Wednesday. Bummer! I don’t know about you, but I’ve come down with the classic autumn cold, that’s a drag. So, to make me feel better, and because, well, I deserve it, I treated myself to an Urban Decay Revolution lipstick today. With the help of a friend (and the chick in Sephora), I settled on “69”. It’s amazing!

I’m usually not that confident in bright lipstick (even though I wish I was), but that stuff is perfect, and I think it actually looks good on me! So big props to Urban Decay. I might just try another colour too because if they can make shy, cold-stricken me feel this good, they deserve my money! Plus, the texture is gorgeous, it doesn’t even feel like lipstick to me 🙂 so there’s me feeling better!

So today’s challenge is half moons. I’ve seen some amazingly elaborate half moons which look great, but personally I prefer to keep them simple. I kinda feel like my own thumbnail was photo-bombing me here, lol…

#31DC2013 – Glitter

Hey girls!

Thanks for sticking with me over the last few days! The new internet box has been set up and seems to be working, not well, but working! I was really pulling my hair out for the first couple of days without the internet, but then I sort of got used to it. I even felt pretty good, finally not worrying about checking my phone all the time. Now I’m stressing over catching up! I mean, I know it’s not a big deal of I skip a couple of nail art themes. I do realise that worse things than that do happen in the world! But despite that perspective, I really want to do tribal nails and delicate pattern nails!

That’s enough waffling, onto the glitter 🙂

Guest Post ! Glitter Gradient by Iriel from “Why Only for Parties?”

Hello, guys! I’m Iriel from Why Only for Parties? Brijit had this brilliant idea of swapping guest posts, so I’m here to show you my first successful glitter gradient.

I swear I tried it a lot of times, but it never worked out. But when my A England’s order arrived I just knew that She Walks in Beauty would be perfect for this. I had seen several glitter gradients with this polish, and it looked so gorgeous that I had to try!

These are the polishes I used: Sally Hansen Double Duty as both base coat and top coat, and A England Iseult and She Walks in Beauty. That’s why I like to call this mani: Iseult Walks in Beauty (I know it’s dumb, bear with me!).

I started with base coat and three coats of Iseult. Two are enough if VNL doesn’t bother you. It does bother to me, so I needed three. I’m not really a pink girl, but this shade is a beauty I can’t resist!

Now the fun part! Making a glitter gradient is really easy; you just have to be careful with the amount of polish on the brush. You need to clean the excess of polish out of the brush and leave just a tiny bit. The brush has to be almost dry. First, you start dabbing just below the cuticle and then drag the brush down until you’ve run out of polish. Repeat from the start, dab just below the cuticle and drag down. When you’ve gotten the amount of glitter you want, let it dry a few minutes and finish it with top coat. You will get the hang of it really fast, I promise you. Now let’s see the pretty pictures…
