Essie – Bottle Service, DJ Play That Song & Bouncer, It’s Me *picture heavy*

Happy Monday !

I hope everyone’s got a nice week ahead of them. Where I work, things are really amping up; but I’m also working on a couple of side projects that you’ll hear about very soon on this blog 🙂

I saw these beautiful polishes at the supermarket local to work and could not resist! Beautiful, bright neon cremes.

First up, Bottle Service. A hot pink. Of course, being a neon, it’s translucent. This is how it looks with no undies (wooo!) :

I love the semi-matte finish of these neons 🙂

The formula for Bottle Service is very very thin ! I actually prefer thin, personally. But to see so little coverage at 3 coats was still a bit of a bummer. Still, it dries very quickly and doesn’t streak.

Guest Post from Bubbly Brunette

I feel incredibly lucky to know other bloggers who enjoy writing up guest posts, as it really helps me to post lots of variety !

Today’s guest post is from Chris at The Bubbly Brunette – she’s done some gorgeous nail art for us, I can’t thank her enough 🙂 I nominated her for a Versatile Award a while back, and I’m so glad to see her blog just getting better and better. I especially recommend her handy Dupe List for those of you out there with a few unobtainable lemmings…

————————————————————————-

Hi everyone! I’m Christina and I’m the bubbly brunette! I’ve been seeing a lot of animal print lately, so I decided to do some on my nails!

I started with a base of Fishnet Stockings by Essie. Then, I dotted on some splotches of Shifting Power by Essie. Using Revlon Knockout and a small brush  I outlined the gold with small C-shapes and added a few random dots.

This is my first time doing a leopard look, and I’m in love! I can’t wait to try this with other color combinations!

Thank you for featuring me, Brijit!

I have to admit something. I have a real problem with people telling me what to do, so although I like looking at tutorials to pick up different techniques, this is the first time I have ever followed a nail art tutorial ! This is the original, click on the picture to see the post :

Bourjois and Essie Spring Nail art

Pshiiit does some amazing nail art, and the tutorial was very simple, but no less effective 🙂

The only slight changes I made were to the size of the flowers, and to use Maximillian Strasse Her instead of the pale blue that Pshiiit used; like her though, I used Beyond Cosy for the silver 🙂

April Challenge – Day 26 – Gradient

If you join in the challenge, you can get an extra entry to my 100 followers giveaway on the rafflecopter link. It’s one entry per day though, so if you’ve missed any, please email me at brijit.elouise@gmail.com with your ‘missing links’ and I can add them for you. Today is gradient day ! I love a good gradient, so I had fun with this one ! Since spring is coming round, I went for corals – both EssieTart Deco is the paler of the two, Meet Me At Sunset is the deeper orangey coral. I also tried a cool new technique (okay, it went up 2 years ago, but it’s new to me !) that I discovered through Tartofraises – I used a fan brush to gradient, instead of a sponge – it’s so much neater ! Tartofraise’s video is here. She uses acrylic paint, but I used nail polish and that worked fine 🙂

As sad as I’ll be when this challenge is over, I think my ‘to swatch’ box could do with being looked after  !

April Challenge – Day 6 – Pink

These first days of the challenge, based on colours, are just an excuse to showcase our favourite polishes, right?

Well, my favourite pink right now is by Lush LacquerPrincess Poodle ! It’s a mix of pink and black matte glitters, I love how it’s girly and punky at the same time 🙂

Besides Princess Poodle, I used black and white Models Own Pro and I need a Vacation (Essie).

April Challenge – Day 5 – Blue

Sorry I’m posting this a day late – I skipped blogging last night in favour of an early night, I’m sure you’ll all forgive me 🙂

Not everyone loves blue nails, but I do ! I couldn’t choose  – which blue to go for, so I went for a Skittles mani, and topped it all off with Darling Diva – Unicorn Bath. Simple, but I love it 🙂

Day 5 - Blue

For the base colours, I used Essie – Butler Please and Topaz of Luxury and White (Models Own Pro).
