#NAILLINKUP – Stamping (again!)

I hope everyone had a nice weekend! I have a very bad case of the Sunday Night Blues this evening. This weekend has been so perfect that I’m especially sad for it to be over!

We had a very mild winter here in France, so I’ve been worried that there would be late snow (like in March last year!) but it hasn’t rained since Monday! The sun has been out all week – and it’s been gloriously warm this weekend 🙂 yesterday I did some gardening (well, cutting the grass, weeding the lawn and sweeping the patio), and today after the gym, we had lunch and coffee in the garden. It’s not hot like summer, but very pleasant 🙂

I also faffed around this afternoon making some shower gel and makeup remover, which is exactly the type of little project that I love! And somehow this morning, I found the time to rearrange my polish! Which is a great start, and I have enough unloved bottles that I think I’ll put up a blog/destash sale soon!

A England – the New Holy Grail

This weekend I’ve been wearing the gorgeous golden foil that is the Holy Grail by A England (the new edition). The old edition was more orangey from what I can tell, so I decided to go for this one – it’s very flattering, and one of those colours that would work for any skin tone!A England - the New Holy Grail-001 Continue reading

A England – Her Rose Adagio

A England is a brand that I’ve only discovered quite recently, when the Burne-Jones Dream collection came out.

Every bottle that I’ve tried has a wonderful formula, and the colours are very original! So I just had to try one from the latest collection. I picked Her Rose Adagio mostly because it looks like a shade I could (probably) get away with at work.It is a holo, but pale pink, and it’s quite toned-down by the silvery holo particles.

A England – Briar Wood

Yay, I finally got Briar Wood by A England, completing my Burne-Jones Dream Collection! Admittedly, there are 2 other reds in the collection (of five!) but this polish is so stunning, I am glad that I got it 😉

Briar Wood is a hella vampy deep burgundy microglitter, with a hint of duo-chrome and tonnes of holo – whoop !

OMD Rather Awesome Challenge – 22. Animal Themed

You’ll have to excuse my frazzled brain. We’re into a third week of this heatwave, and although I love the sun, I’m starting to find the lack of sleep a bit hard to cope with. So be prepared for a seriously abstract mani, haha!

I have issues with birds; I’ve always been scared of them. The fluttering and flying makes me nervous, and they just look so strange, and sort of gross. But this weekend, whilst I was sweating it out in the garden, I actually enjoyed watching some sparrows dancing overhead. There’s a clan of about 8 that have been dancing around in our garden (sooo funny, to see our indoor cats watching them!) and it was fascinating to watch these funny, chirruping little balls of brown feathers suddenly become gracious and athletic, diving around in the sky – it was as if they were totally transformed !

So I really wanted to do a bird mani tonight, and had a funky parrot on my VL 001 plate to test out !

A England – Burne-Jones Dream – Briar Rose, Fated Prince, Rose Bower & Sleeping Palace

Okay, so I wasn’t going to post today and here I am posting twice, but this polish is too pretty not to share…

Please tell me that I’m not the only one that gets myself birthday presents? Actually, to be honest, I’m always getting myself presents, whinging “but it’s my birthday (this week/month/year)”….

Well this year, one of my presents to me is this beautiful collection, inspired by the Sleeping Beauty paintings by Edward Burne-Jones. And I’m so glad ! I got the four that were available, and with a little bit of luck, might just have the fifth this week !!!

A England polishes have never really caught my eye before – yep, nice pearly finishes, but nothing that’s really grabbed me. But this collection really stood out, maybe because I’m a sucker for holo !

The formula on these is just perfect. I love the fact that the cap is a little wider than usual – I have always suffered from dodgy joints (that is actually the phrase a doctor used to describe them!) and this means I get hand-cramp quite a lot. But a thicker lid is much more comfortable for me.

I’m not sure if the brush is round or flat – it’s rounder than a flat brush, but flatter than a round brush – but it fans out beautifully and is very well endowed and smooth – and just one stroke is enough for my little finger ❤

These swatches are in a variety of lighting (Halogen where the light is coming from above, LED where the light is coming from below and direct sunlight when they’re flat on to the light, if you like to know these details)

That’s enough talking, it’s photo time !
