Hey girlies! Happy Saturday. It’s the weekend, yay!
Of course I realise that pastels are often kept for spring/summer, but as I was slouching around this afternoon in my new cream jumper, I decided that pastels would actually look pretty great with it. So I grabbed another one of my early Christmas presents (I am so very spoiled, lol!) – the Fruit Pastel box set by Models Own.
And I got photo-bombed by Clingy Kitty a lot…
They are all fruity-scented (once dried) – I gave myself quite a headache giving them all a good sniff! The label on the top of the bottle is scratch-and-sniff, and represents very well what the polish inside will smell like.
Banana Split is the classic synthetic-banana smell – I actually really dislike this smell (am I the only one?), although the polish isn’t strongly scented, I find it really overpowering. It’s also the streakiest of all the polishes, but I used 3 coats for every single one (no top & base coat, though).
Apple Pie is my favourite smelling one! It doesn’t smell like apple pie to me, but more like pear drops. The application was a bit better, but about what you would normally expect from a pastel – a bit streaky, so avoid over working it, and you need to really let it dry between coats.
I imagine this one will be a hit for mint fans!
Grape Juice is a little more pigmented than the others, at least it dries a little brighter. Very pretty and feminine, though. I love how colours like this suit so many skin tones!
Strawberry Tart is a very pale coral pink. I think it would look amazing on either really pale skin (mine is more medium) or tanned skin; so it’s really the wrong time of year for this one. I couldn’t not swatch it with the others, though!
Colour-wise, my favourite is Blueberry Muffin. It’s so very pale, it’s almost a pale grey. Very frosty for this time of year, and I think it will make an amazing base for nail art.
