Happy Friday my darlings! It’s the weeeeekend! And it’s all the more sweet because I’m off work next week. All week! ❤
So I will be able to get more organised in my blogging, get out my winter wardrobe and get some lovely new bits and bobs in the Boutique.
When I got in from work, I had 2 packages waiting. One full of lovely supplies (so you’ll be seeing more new items soon!) and one from Llarowe. Yeah, the Llarowe. See, she held a Hallowe’en nail art competition/giveaway, and I was lucky enough to draw a prize! First of all, if you see the sheer number of prizes that go up for grabs on Facebook, well, this lady is super generous! And secondly, my prize is the best!
I’ve never tried Dance Legend before, and I got picked for Teleportation. Obviously I Googled it straight away – and this is totally my colour! I’m not really a very girly girl, but I do have a weakness for old rose shades like this, they are just so easy to pair up with just about anything else, and I think they look good on my skin tone.
Frankly, since I make my own holo polish, I do have a bottle of concentrated Spectraflair. And Teleportation is even more holographic than that! It’s a boom! In your face holo that even impresses boys (I tested it).
All these photos are taken in direct light, the concentrated holo particles actually change the base colour a little too! In low light, it just looks like a pinky-silver. Of course, that is just as stunning 🙂
I used three coats. I actually think two would have been fine, but I paint very thin. The polish dries nice and fast, and to a very very glossy finish. OF course, top coat will always protect your nails better, but it’s good to know that you don’t, strictly speaking, *need* it to get the best out of this polish.
The only weakness of this polish as far as I’m concerned is the smell. It is very stinky. I would actually say it is the smelliest I have ever used. It smells as strong as petrol to me! Of course, this fades very quickly! So unless you’re very sensitive, you should be fine.
One of the reasons that I hadn’t tried Dance Legend before is that I wasn’t sure about the look of the bottles. I know it sounds silly, but I like to have my nail polish on display. And neat, clean bottles just look so… shiny. Well, I do maintain that Dance Legend bottles look a bit like they came straight out of the 70’s. But they are actually very nice quality! They are heavy and balanced, the glass feels suitably thick to keep the lovely polish protected. The brush is quite long and a little wider than usual (not very wide) and it fans out very nicely. And the cap… I actually love the cap. I know I sound a bit OCD, but I really need them to line up nicely when the bottle is firmly closed. And these caps are just perfect!
Dance Legend is a Russian brand, so some of the fine print on the back of the bottle is in the Cyrillic alphabet. But don’t fear – the actual ingredients are in the Roman alphabet. A big plus for me, as I like to know what I’m putting on my nails! So this brand is totally 5-free, and contains no Toluene, Camphor, DBT (Dibutyl Phthalate), Formaldehyde or Formaldehyde Resin!
So, I will definitely be grabbing other colours! Thanks so much to Llarowe for organising such an amazing giveaway, and thanks to Jax (Craftynail) for bringing it to my attention – without her, I may have missed the whole thing! ❤
