MoYou-London Suki Collection 08 Nail Art Stamping Plate

Thanks to Jax at Craftynail, I just had to order some MoYou-London plates!

They arrived really quickly (from the UK), and the customer service was really great. I actually ordered through their Amazon site since one of the plates I really wanted wasn’t in stock on their main site. And, being the great dolt that I am, I managed to order the wrong one (I blame Amazon one-click !!) – and realised that just after validating the order. Well, I messaged them straight away and they were really nice about it, and sent the one I meant to order 😀

So one of the two I ordered is from the Suki Collection – it’s number 8 in the series, and is pretty awesome! It’s very hard to photograph shiny things, but I got one, just for you 😉

Now, before I show you my first attempt, a little reminder – I’m not very good at stamping! That’s not the fault of the plates 😉

First up, I put on some Barry M Gold Foil Effect polish, and I stamped the cloud and bird pattern over it.

The swirly clouds came out really nicely, the definition on these plates is awesome! The birds… Well, the plate was great, but I screwed them up by not stamping straight, and trying to correct the wonkiness mid-stamp… Maybe I’d have done better to stamp the birds individually instead of as a full-cover, haha!

But for someone with big nails like me (they’re not just long, my nail beds are very curved, so pretty wide too), it’s so nice to have companies bringing out bigger patterns! I did a little research, and it turns out that the first plates MoYou-London made were smaller. Customers with big nails complained, so they listened! And I love how in the shop, there is a section you can look at where you only see the big patterns – no more falling in love with a pattern just to find out that it’s too small – yay!

The second time round I did a different pattern on each nail. The base colour is Kiko 287 – a nice raspberry/red. Then I put a coat of Spectraflair top coat (this time by Piper Polish) on and stamped over that in China GlazeMagical. Perfect! It’s nice to have different patterns all on one plate, they all coordinate very nicely, and you don’t have to think about which ones to put together.

I’m so pleased with how it came out this time – I did double-stamp the full-cover patterns, since some of them weren’t quite big enough for my nails. But the patterns are complex enough that a bit of wonkiness isn’t so obvious 😉
