What has everyone else got planned for this fine Saturday night? We’re going out for dinner, so I thought I’d better post this first, in case I fall asleep early on the sofa again, haha!
I guess I’m not the only person who picked their favourite (nail) colour for this prompt? Well, I love pink-leaning purple, and I’ve never done this type of mani before, so I went for it 🙂
I have a bit of a problem with the term ‘ombré’ for this mani, partly because I live in France, and I’ve only heard the word ‘ombré’ used in a literal sense, as ‘shadowed’, like if a window is shadowed by an overhanging tree. So I’ll have to ask the boyfriend if this is a misappropriation, or if it actually can mean this kind of colour progression 🙂 he’s likely to glaze over as soon as I explain it comes fomr a nail art technique, though… maybe a French reader could help me out?
I actually inverted the second hand, and instead of starting light at the pinkie, went light at the thumb. Does that still count as an ombré?
So, the colours I used were, from darkest :
- Barry M Grape (Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint)
- Butter London Brummie (which probably could have done with a third coat)
- Butter London Scoundrel
- Butter London Molly-Coddled
I really feel like Butter London ‘gets’ what I want from a purple polish, haha!
