#31DC2013 – Rainbow Nails *FAIL*

Yeesh, this one is a huge fail. Let me tell you right away, the only reason I’m posting it at all is because I don’t want to miss a day of the challenge! That said, I read a lot of nail blogs, and I do like to see a fail once in a while, so here’s hoping that you do, too!

31DC2013 - Rainbow-001

I know that they aren’t strictly very rainbow-y – they only seem to have gold, blue, green and purple in there. But in my defense, this foil is called Rainbow Swirl (I bought it here, it’s out of stock now, but this place restocks really often!).

The quality of this foil is pretty good, but my application sucked! Sorry guys… I promise that tomorrow’s gradient will make up for it, I’ve done photos to put together a tutorial and everything 😉

I like the concept! I am pretty sure my application would be a lot worse, so thanks for sharing 🙂

  2. They are rainbow-y! How do I know, because I can sing the rainbow song and they are all there, Red and yellow and pink and greeeeen, purple and orange and blue…. I can sing a raaaaaainbow, sing a raaaainbow… Well, you get the idea 😉 I can never get foils to work so I think this looks fine honey !! X

It looks pretty cool to me.

I really think they are great! I can’t look at a pack of foil without breaking out in hives.

  6. I actually really like them! I think the point of painting nails is to be creative, and this concept is very unique. Keep up all the great work!

Nail foils are my enemy. I use them for space nails by smacking colored foils on 90% dry nails and hoping for the best:)

  8. I like it, it’s pretty in an abstract way! And oh hon, do I know what a nail fail is or what, that’s been the name of the game this whole challenge! Luckily I have enough patience (and acetone!) to try and amend the worst offenders!

WOW, gurl, if this is a fail… I think it looks quite amazing, especially considering we all know that foil always rips and crinkles! I think that’s what gives it such a rough, natural beauty. The contrast of the application with the metallic rainbow smoothness of the finish.

  10. Why do you call this a fail? Because there are some pieces of foil that wouldn’t stick nice and smooth? Well, I think this is AWESOME! I bet I can’t get the foil work as the way you did. When I use foil I randomly ‘dab’ little pieces because I just can’t get a full smooth coverage. So, you did an amazing job! And I just love this kind off foil. So colorful 😀
